What are the main domains of Enterprise Architecture?
The traditional EA domains are:
- Business Architecture
- Data Architecture
- Application Architecture
- Technology Architecture
Security Architecture, Integration Architecture, Cloud Architecture and other specialist disciplines often span multiple domains.
The domains are interconnected.
Business capabilities require processes and information. Information is managed through applications. Applications depend on technology platforms. All of these require appropriate security.
The purpose of using domains is therefore not to create organisational silos, but to make the different aspects of the enterprise easier to understand.
